Bristol firms saddle up for children’s charity
Staff from Bristol-based firm Midas Construction, part of the Midas Group, teamed up with Bailey Caravans in aid of the Wallace & Gromit Grand Appeal on Friday 1 July.
The team set off from Bailey Caravans headquarters in Bedminster, where Midas has recently fitted Bristol’s largest solar panel roof array in the first phase of a £2.3 million expansion of the business currently being delivered by Midas.
The team of 14 riders completed the 110 km challenge which took in the stunning countryside surrounding the city before finishing at the Midas head office on Winterstoke Road.
The group were raising money for The Wallace & Gromit Grand Appeal which provides cutting edge, life-saving equipment, family accommodation and arts, music and play therapy for patients and their families at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
Midas project manager Andy Blake was delighted with the amount raised from the event. “We’ve generated over £1,300 so far, which we’re really pleased with. We’re obviously on site at Baileys and we interact with the team there all the time, so to get out of a work environment and do something positive for a local good cause is really refreshing.”
