Team celebrate success of major Marsh Mills retail development
The team behind a major retail development in one of Plymouth’s most popular shopping destinations have gathered on site to mark the success of the project, with all the new units now fully fitted out and open for business.
Midas Construction built the four new retail units and two drive-thru units at the Marsh Mills Retail Park, with the wider project team including architects Lacey Hickie & Caley Ltd, employer’s agent Ward Williams Associates, structural engineer Airey and Coles and electrical engineers Services Design Solutions.
The £7.7 million project brought major high-street brands to the established retail park, situated just off the A38 two miles outside of Plymouth city centre. Drive-thru KFC and Costa have been joined by Sofology, Wren Kitchen, Tapi Carpets and Mothercare.
Midas Construction, part of the Midas Group, started work on the project back in September 2017. As well as building the new units, Midas also constructed car parking, access roads, landscaping, service and drainage connections and installed a water storage tank.
Mike Borkowski, Business Development Director at Midas Construction, said: “As a locally-based business with a strong presence in Plymouth we are delighted see all the businesses open and trading.
“It was great to not only celebrate the completion of the project but also to celebrate our continued collaboration with our partners on this significant project for Plymouth and the surrounding areas.”
Nikki Griffiths, Associate Partner, Ward Williams Associates, said: “Ward Williams Associates is proud to have been part of the project team for this quality scheme from its inception through to successful completion. The Plymouth Gateway Retail Park will deliver a real boost to the retail sector in Plymouth with high profile brands in a prominent and accessible location.”
