Midas Construction to build major Jaguar Land Rover dealership at Cribbs Causeway

Bristol is to get a major new Jaguar Land Rover dealership after Midas Construction was appointed to build a prestigious new facility at Cribbs Causeway.

The £12.3 million project for Guy Salmon, part of the national dealership Sytner Group, will create extensive showrooms and parking areas with capacity for more than 400 vehicles together with workshops and servicing bays.

It is the latest in a series of landmark and high-profile projects in the Bristol and Bath areas for Midas Construction, part of the Midas group, driven by strong performance and in many cases repeat business.

Highlights include the recently-completed £6.3 million transformation of St George’s Bristol into a world-class venue and creative space for music and ideas, complete with new pavilion-style extension, new café bar, restored stonework, interpretation space within the Crypt and improved access for visitors with disabilities.

Also in Bristol, Midas is currently delivering a mix of much-needed new homes and modern student accommodation as part of a £24 million project, bringing new life to the Backlands area between Jacob Street and Unity Street. The project is a direct result of Midas’s £25 million, multi-award-winning redevelopment, for the same client, of the nearby former Bristol Post print press site into the Print Hall student accommodation hub.

New project wins for Midas Construction include a new 12-classroom school to replace the existing school building at Watermore Primary, in Frampton Cotterell, near Bristol, with works on site having commenced recently.

Derek Quinn, Executive Director for Midas Construction, said: “It is a source of immense pride for us as a locally-based business to be delivering major new projects across a variety of sectors, thereby contributing to the development of our region’s economic, cultural and built environment.

“We are delighted to be working with Sytner Group at Cribbs Causeway on what will be an impressive new Jaguar Land Rover showroom, and building on our relationship with them as they continue to expand their coverage across the UK.

The Jaguar Land Rover, Cribbs Causeway project will span a total development area of 6,700m2, featuring indoor showroom and office space over two floors, plus roof deck and ground level external vehicle parking areas for more than 400 cars, together with full workshop and service bay facilities.

Work is set to get under way on site after Christmas and is expected to be completed in spring 2020.

Midas is one of the UK's largest independent construction and property services providers. The company’s strategy is to become the contractor of choice in the areas in which it operates, by developing long-term relationships through the delivery of its vision to be   leaders in customer service and performance. It is a strategy which is already showing success with more than 75% of the Group’s projects being carried out on a repeat business basis.
