Waitrose opens in Exeter
Midas Developments has delivered an £8 million Waitrose store in Exeter ahead of time with the new unit on Heavitree Road opening on October 6th 2011.
The steel framed 23,000 sq ft store is one of Waitrose's largest retail units and has 227 car parking spaces. The construction phase was carried out by Midas Retail and was preceded by a 10 week demolition programme which produced some 30,000 tons of spoil used for recycling, some of which was used on site.
The building has been constructed with a high energy saving vale achieving sustainable building assessment, BREEAM Excellent status.
During the construction phase, staff from Midas Retail supported several local community projects.
