Generous Midas staff bring Christmas cheer for local children
A bit of Christmas sparkle will be brought into the lives of children in Cornwall and North Devon thanks to a festive donation by staff at Midas Construction, part of the Midas Group.
Office and site staff from Midas, one of the UK’s largest privately owned construction and property services providers, raised enough money to buy 42 toys for children across the region through the Pirate FM Toy Appeal 2017.
Team Secretary Mica Anderson rallied staff across the business and their generous donations will see toys delivered to the Children’s Hospice South West as well as other charities supporting disadvantaged children in Cornwall and North Devon.
The Midas team working on the Kresen Kernow project - Cornwall’s new archive centre - also donated money raised from a raffle organised by Kresen Kernow site secretary Abbey O’Brien.
Mica said: “We raised almost £400 and with that money, we managed to buy 42 toys for children this Christmas. I chose more traditional toys as part of the donation, particularly ones I remember enjoying playing with when I was young.
“We would like to thank all of our colleagues that donated money, particularly our sub-contractors at Kresen Kernow.”
