Work under way on new £6m office development in Redcliffe, Bristol

Midas has begun a major redevelopment project at the landmark Temple Point office building, in Redcliffe.

The £6 million scheme being delivered by Midas Construction, part of the Midas Group, for Legal & General, will last a year and will see the refurbishment of internal office space  along with the addition of a new glass extension to house a reception and meeting area.

At the peak of activity, it is anticipated that about 100 people will be working on site, which fronts Redcliffe Way, overlooking Temple Quay and Victoria Street.

Midas secured the contract for the scheme following its award-winning delivery of the 740 Aztec West office development in Bristol, which Midas delivered for Legal & General in 2016. That scheme won Best Refurbished / Recycled Workplace at the British Council of Offices Awards 2016, with the judging panel highlighting how the project team had transformed what was a dated 1980s three storey building into a bright, modern and welcoming office environment.

Derek Quinn, Executive Director for Midas Construction, said: “This is a significant office development in the city centre and one where we are delighted to once again be the contractor of choice for Legal and General.

“We see it as a great endorsement of our work for Legal and General on 740 Aztec West and of the importance we place in developing long-term relationships founded upon excellent customer service.

“Bristol is an exciting market to be working in at the moment and as a locally-based company it’s great to be at the heart of this and involved in highly visible examples of the city’s growth such as this Temple Point scheme.”

Midas, whose headquarters are in Winterstoke Road, Bristol, has helped deliver a number of the city’s leading office developments over recent years, including Narrow Quay House for Standard Life Insurance, and the new ALD offices, for Stoford Developments.
