Frameworks are an important source of activity, providing the opportunity to build strong partnerships and secure repeat business through a collaborative two stage process.
These partnerships with private and public sector customers are an excellent fit with our strategy to build long-term relationships with customers by delivering our vision to be leaders in customer service and performance.
There are also significant benefits for customers, with a shift in focus from lowest price tendering to early collaborative engagement between customer and contractor on planning and design.
The result is less waste in the project process, leading to more efficient delivery and improved predictability of project cost, time and quality performance.
How it works
Frameworks operate by customers establishing agreements with pre-approved contractors who have already been through a rigorous tendering and evaluation process. It simplifies the procurement route and brings added value through early contractor involvement in the project development.
More than 75% of Midas Group’s work is now carried out on a repeat business basis and work delivered through frameworks accounted for 40% of secured projects in 2017-2018. As well as successfully bidding to be part of frameworks, Midas Group has set out to take a leading role supporting our customers in ensuring their frameworks work effectively and deliver added value.
Our framework partners
In the last three years alone we have delivered 75 projects valued at £368 million through framework agreements and strategic partnerships, including 20 education projects, 15 residential, 4 retail, 4 defence estates and four other public sector facilities.
Our most active framework is the Southern Construction Framework (SCF) which has provided us with 24 opportunities worth over £115 million to date.
Other frameworks include
New frameworks in the last year include the £8 billion Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) Framework, which is set to drive major investment in schools and other education facilities over the next four years, and where we were successful in lots covering the South, South East and West Midlands. We are now seeing a healthy pipeline of projects and have already secured our first opportunity on a batch of two schools in the West Midlands, Bluecoat Church of England Academy and Merritts Brook E-ACT Primary Academy.
More recently, Mi-Space was the sole contractor appointed to the Cornwall County Housing Framework and our Southern Construction Division earned a place on the Dorset County Council Framework
