This project is the first of its size being developed by the client, and the third project on which Midas has worked with them. With a GIFA of 5,515 m2, the project comprises the design and construction of a ground plus 2 storey building featuring hanging balconies and encompassing an 88-bed care home (24 beds assisted living and 64 beds dementia care) with ensuite assisted bathrooms, catering kitchen, lounges, a management office and two plant rooms.

The building design incorporates piling, ground beams and a steel frame masonry finished building steel framed masonry with composite windows, timber/zinc cladding, rendered blockwork and a pitched roof. Externally the work comprises extensive landscaped gardens, access road, car parking (38 spaces) and offsite storm water attenuation and connections. Challenges include the location on a busy main road (A39), an adjacent hospital, nearby residential area and protection of a watercourse.
