Midas was contracted to add a 6,000m² extension to a 15,000m² warehouse situated on the Southampton Western Docks site, 200m from the water’s edge. This retail logistics distribution unit remained occupied and operational throughout the project. The extension used a quick installation method for the concrete floor; steel fibres were fed into the concrete as it was poured. Energy and environmental initiatives included the installation of 800kW of roof mounted PV array (across both extension and existing building), energy efficient lights, bicycle storage, changing facilities, restricted flow water outlets, and the segregated metering of the building's power.
