Project Detail

The project comprised extension and construction of teaching facilities the Exeter College Technology Centre, to the east of the city. The facilities provide additional workshop space for the teaching faculty with space for painting and designing car body works and creating electrical components for aeroplanes. The extension comprised strip and pad foundations, a steel frame with composite panel cladding and external insulated cladding, raised seam roofing, blockwork to 2.4m heights, and power floated concrete floor slabs. Midas assisted the client with their design challenges, providing cost- and time-effective solutions to enable the project to finish ahead of programme, whilst also saving the client circa £25,000 – £35,000. The project scored 91% in the customer satisfaction survey at practical completion.
