This project involved extension of the existing Kawasaki Precision Engineering facility located in Ernesettle, Plymouth. Works encompassed the construction of a single-storey north extension and a two-storey south extension to the existing factory, forming new dispatch and storage areas at ground floor level with offices on the first floor. Changes were made to the external road / access arrangements in order to facilitate the extensions and demolition and refurbishment works were executed as part of the overall scheme. The project required regular and detailed planning and communications at site level with the client’s representatives, tight scheduling and marshalling of all deliveries on site to prevent disruption to the Kawasaki's deliveries / dispatch processes caused by waiting/ queuing vehicles, and re-sequencing the construction programme to undertake works in the factory shut-down period.
