Bridge Quay
Region: Bristol
Value: £7,500,000
Contract terms: JCT Design and Build 2011
Procurement: Design + Build
Completed: May 2016
Challenges: Due to its city centre location, the site set up was in the basement of the building. The works required a full scaffold with one element of the scaffolding cantilevered out over the waters of the River Avon.
Project summary
The project involved the conversion and refurbishment of Bristol City Centre office space into 59 2bed and 3bed private residential apartments for Terrace Hill (part of Urban and Civic Plc). Mi-space constructed a new storey on the top of the building, installing a new roof and lift shaft.
The apartments were fitted out to a luxury specification and the building envelope enhanced with new windows and external cladding.
Designed by Alec French Architects the scheme contributes to the ongoing regeneration of Bristol waterfront, sitting in a prominent city centre location overlooking the river Avon and historic Bristol Bridge.
