( Last Updated: 01-07-2011 )

The official turf cutting ceremony at Exmouth's latest residential care home took place last week when proprietors, John and Wendy Marsh visited the site on Douglas Avenue.

The Project TeamSheridan House is a £1.5 million design and build project undertaken by Midas Construction and comprises three upper stories with generous en-suite accommodation for 24 residents and a basement with dining room, kitchen, offices and recreational facilities.

John & Wendy Marsh already own and manage the nearby award-winning Brandon House Residential Care Home which they acquired in 2000.  Their work there has been recognized by becoming finalists in the National Independent Specialist Care Awards in 2011.

John Marsh said: "We have consistently been recognized by the Care Quality Commission for the high standards of service we deliver and we have been able to use this experience to guide the design and build process.

"In this way, we can ensure that we maximise the benefits to our prospective residents and provide them with the comfort, respect and quality of life they deserve.

"Our project manager Darren Marsh who is overseeing the construction phase of the project is pleased to announce that the build is running very smoothly and is currently ahead of schedule."

"However, John & Wendy are very knowledgeable and their input has been invaluable."

Designed by Pearn & Procter Architects and due for completion in March 2012, Sheridan House has an internal void as part of its elegant design forming an inner atrium with a large skylight visible form the ground floor.
