Work underway on new bed and kitchen outlets
Having successfully converted the former MFI Building at Truro's Newquay Road Retail Park to accommodate a Dunelm Mill store on behalf of Aviva Investments, Midas Construction has been awarded a similar contract to convert the building next door.
The new £700,000 contract involves converting the former Allied Carpet retail outlet into two units for beds and bedroom furniture business, ‘Dreams', and for ‘Wrens Kitchens'.
Midas Construction Project Manager Ian Taylor said: "The Dunelm Project went very well for us and we came in on time despite having to work in the middle of a ‘live' car park as other stores remained open.
"As a result, we were not only able to negotiate a contract variation to renovate the shop fronts at Harveys and Bensons at the other end of the building, but were also able to negotiate with landlords Aviva, a new contract for the conversion of the former Allied Carpets building which we have now started and plan to finish in June."
