Cornwall Under 12 table tennis champion, Carl Baldry, is celebrating new clothing sponsorship from Midas Construction.
12 year-old Carl, a pupil at Bodmin College and a member of Blisland Table Tennis Club, is due to compete in the English Cadet and Junior National Championships in Hatfield next month where the talented youngster will be in competition with players up to 15 years of age.
Next April, he will also compete in the English Schools Table Tennis Association's Individual Championships in Doncaster. Carl will be wearing new Midas branded clothing at both competitions.
Midas Construction's Tessa Purdy, said: "Carl contacted us directly with his sponsorship proposal and we were very impressed by him, his ability and his ambition.
"Midas is involved in a great many construction projects throughout Cornwall and we try and support the community through our corporate social responsibility programme wherever we can. We are delighted to be a main sponsor for Carl."
Carl said: "I'm really grateful for the support and coaching I've received from everyone at Blisland Table Tennis Club and to Midas for sponsoring my kit. Competing all over the UK Cornwall can be very expensive so any sponsorship of this kind makes a big contribution to our running costs.
Carl's father Martin Baldry, added: "Carl was really pleased with the positive response he got from Midas, a request he made himself. It certainly helps our budget go a bit further."
