Having completed the new £2.3 million centralised Mortuary facility located at East Cemetery, Bournemouth in December 2010, the Romsey office of award-winning contractor, Midas Construction has now been awarded a further contract by Bournemouth Borough Council to upgrade their existing Crematorium facility
The £1 million design and build project involves managing the installation of new abatement equipment and the construction of new plant enclosures with structural alterations and upgrades to the site's existing services infrastructure.
Midas Construction Divisional Director, Paul Strachan said: "We are delighted to once again be working with Bournemouth Borough Council to deliver essential services used by the local community. This project is, perhaps, more challenging than the first as the existing facilities will remain in operation throughout the project and this will require detailed planning and great care during the onsite phase to ensure visitors to the crematorium are not disturbed or inconvenienced.
