Ridgeway School

Wroughton, Near Swindon

Project: A £3.2m school building for Swindon Borough Council

Midas Construction is delighted to have completed the new school building for Ridgeway School in Wroughton.

The students at the School entered the building for the first time at the start of term in September and have enjoyed their first half of term studying in the building.

Swindon Borough Council has funded the project, in line with Promise 17 which aims to replace unsuitable mobile classrooms to enable pupils to have a high quality learning environment.

The project has consisted of the demolition of the mobile classrooms and the construction of the two storey teaching block.  The block comprises sixteen new classrooms, Office accommodation, an ICT Suite, toilets and a platform lift, plus an access road for emergency and support services.

Midas has also installed a water harvesting tank in the ground adjacent to the building.  The tank will collect rainwater which will then be recycled in the toilet cisterns in the new teaching block.
