Remodel for Marks and Spencer

Exeter

Project: Remodel for Marks & Spencer, Exeter, Devon

As one of a number of key contractors selected to carry out remodel works for M&S sites throughout the UK, Midas completed the M&S Exeter £7.2m project ahead of schedule as well as meeting the extremely high standards of quality and finish demanded by M&S.

The strategic intent for M&S remodels for 2006 was to create a new holistic experience, centred around the customer journey, providing an emotionally engaging shopping experience and increased product choice through the introduction of additional linear footage.

The total works comprised initial asbestos removal, renewal and upgrade of ceilings, sprinklers, lighting, fire alarm, CCTV, and all associated electrical works. The contract also included installation of a new walling system to all areas, new fixed and loose equipment in all areas, relocation and upgrade of fitting rooms, toilets, Bureau de Change, tills and information desks, new internal and external signage and new flooring thought the store, upgraded refrigeration equipment including a food hall design to new specification and a new shop front, and entrance/exit doors to include external cladding.
