Midas have completed the new cardiology building on the live hospital campus whilst undertaking the refurbishment of key departments within the existing hospital. The restricted funding of the project required Midas to re-utilise some of the existing medical equipment and fittings whilst also co-ordinating the incorporation of new equipment supplied by the Client. The complete scope of works for the project included:
- 5 bay Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) department
- Cardiology Department
- New Catheter Lab
- Endoscopy suite
- 20 bedroom accommodation
- 1 treatment room
- Refurbishment of maternity ward
- New reception area
- GP out of hours unit including 5 consulting rooms
Midas worked closely with the consultants to ensure the Trust continued its business as usual. Patient pathways were rerouted and the existing ITU ward was maintained by moving patients to an obsolete HDU facility. All works were carried out without interruption to the emergency services and the hospital remained fully operational throughout.
