Midas has completed the second scheme of the Plymouth LIFT health programme. Mount Gould Local Care Centre has been handed over on time after an 82 week construction programme.
The 79,000 sq ft centre, designed by Architect Devereaux includes podiatry, physiotherapy, speech and language, and occupational therapy, 60 inpatient beds, a GP Surgery, diagnostic services and outpatient clinics. The steel frame construction clad with brickwork and cedar includes a single membrane roof and curved windows. The building has been designed to offer "value for money" in long term maintenance costs.
As well as having 60 inpatient beds for rehabilitation patients, it has X-ray services, inpatient facilities and specialist outpatient clinics.
The beds are split over two floors, with three four-bed bays and 17 single rooms, as well as two fully-equipped flats which patients can stay in to be assessed on their ability to cope at home before they are discharged.
