Midas completes ’State of the Art’ City Road Surgery in Cardiff

( Last Updated: 13-07-2009 )

Midas Construction, part of the Midas Group, has handed over the new ‘state of the art surgery' on City Road to the Doctors this week.  The construction of the new £2m ‘super surgery' started in June 2008 to replace one of Cardiff's oldest medical practices.

The Surgery has walk-in facilities along the lines of the latest NHS models that are used throughout the UK.

The Surgery has been built on a piece of derelict ground near the junction with Albany Road, a short distance from where the existing practice stood.  A pharmacy has also been included in the building on the ground floor.

Dave Haskell, Divisional Director, Midas Construction in Wales, said:

"This Surgery is an important facility for the local community and it's great for Midas to help in giving something back to that community.  I am extremely pleased to be handing back the completed, modern Surgery to the Doctors, enabling them to continue with their good work."

Local developer Raj Aggarwal OBE has instigated the build of the surgery on behalf of the Doctors and is delighted it has opened.  He said:

"The two storey building is ultra modern in both function and appearance and will mean improved facilities and services to the 7,500 patients that used to use the old Surgery."
