Midas begins work on £900,000 Community Sports Centre

Midas Construction has begun work on an ambitious new community sports centre in the heart of Barnstaple, North Devon

The first turf was cut on January 9th 2011 on the Falcons Community Sports Centre,  a purpose built indoor community sports facility and part of a phased development linking the new building to the existing Tarka Tennis Centre.

The turf is cutThe site is owned by North Devon Council, with the authority also awarding £350,000 towards the project. Further funding has come from British Gymnastics and Devon County Council, taking the total for the project to £900,000. The design and level of construction of the facility will allow for national gymnastic competitions to be held at the centre.

The new Falcons Gymnasium will be built by South West based Midas Construction who also built the adjacent Tarka Tennis Centre, The Barnstaple office of Gates Construction Consultants is managing the project on behalf of the end-user client, Falcons Gymnastics Academy.
