The ongoing extension to Morrison's in Weymouth has provided opportunities to benefit local older people. Altogether Care, a Dorset based care provider, was delighted when Midas Retail, the construction company responsible for the extension at Morrison's, offered to provide building alterations for a number of their clients.
Practical items such as ramps and grab rails will assist at least 5 older people to remain living independently in their own home. Daily tasks such as taking a bath or walking up the stairs will become much easier.
Brian Westlake, Chairman of Altogether Care said, "We are extremely grateful to Midas for adding these important touches to the homes of our clients. This is person centred care at its most practical. We want our clients to remain as independent as possible and the installation of these items will be valuable for their every day needs and increase their quality of life".
Tony Gill, the proud owner of a new ramp and cover said, "This is brilliant. I can now get outside more easily and enjoy my garden. Shame the weather has turned!"
Altogether Care offers a wide spectrum of care services including residential, dementia, nursing and community care. Its head office is located in Weymouth.
Midas Retail is part of Bristol based Midas Group and provides solutions for a wide range of construction projects to various companies throughout the UK, including Morrison's. The recent extension at their Weymouth store is due for completion on 12th October this year.
Tyron Ebdon, Project Manager at Midas Retail said, "Altogether Care's clients are really pleased with the practical improvements to their homes and we're delighted to provide them as part of the Considerate Constructors Scheme which involves being a good neighbour and becoming actively involved with the community
