A Futsal Arena 30 million people around the world play Futsal, which has had its beginnings firmly set in South America since the 1930s.  Players such as Ronaldo, Kaka and Messi all started their footballing lives playing Futsal.

Futsal is an indoor version of association football (soccer).  The name "Futsal" simply combines the Spanish words for "Hall" - Sala, and "Football" - Futbol into Futsal.  It is the format of small sided football that is recognised and supported by FIFA, UEFA and recently the FA, with world championships taking place for club and national teams.

Midas Interiors, part of Midas Group, has been awarded the contract to fit-out the first, state of the art, purpose-built Futsal club in a warehouse in Llanishen in South Wales.  The Midas team will run the project from their new Welsh office in Tongwynlais.

The Midas team will deliver an arena that has four FIFA regulation Futsal pitches, including a full international sized pitch, made from a highly specialised modular flooring system that produces the optimum playing experience.  The club, which will open in mid August 2009, has a number of lifestyle features such as a Sports Bar/Café, retail area and game area.  The décor will feature a stadium feel and will make use of graffiti art to create a unique and vibrant environment that will appeal to a wide audience.  In addition the venue will feature excellent viewing facilities for spectators together with ample parking.

Derek Quinn, Executive Director, Midas Interiors, said:

"This is an exciting project for us and we're delighted to help bring the message and pleasure of Futsal to the local communities in South Wales."

Futsal and Midas have been instrumental in implementing the "made in Wales agenda" with this project and will be supporting "local jobs for local people".  Futsal is keen to get involved with schools and local community groups in the area, and will want to make a good impact on the local community as a whole.

A Futsal Arena Environmentally the Futsal concept is a friendly one as no noise is emitted from the arena, there are no flood lights and the company has a policy of putting local buildings back into commission and creating local jobs.

Futsal are planning a UK wide roll-out of 30 arenas over the next 36 months.  The next arena will be in the Midlands.
