The scheme has delivered a contemporary and modern store environment, including new floor coverings and new ceilings throughout, plus new tills. All fitting rooms had new equipment installed and new sales floor loose equipment, bringing this tired store into a pier position in the retail market. Other changes included; new CCTV, M&E, data swap out, new energy efficient lighting, vertical customer movement, a new shop front and customer friendly entrances. The entrances lead through to a state-of-the-art M&S Cafe.
This project was fortunate to have a team all pulling in the same direction. The team had one focus and understood the requirements of the client's needs prior to moving forward. The Design was completed before the project started, which meant that the subcontractors could deliver a quality product within the budget. The subcontractors are time served not just in the trade but also with the client's requirements, repetition delivers shopfitting with ease and encourages best practice. This project was a shinning example of this especially in the food hall, where no linear footage was lost at any point in the duration of the project despite a full cold chain swap out. The focus on the customer and their needs helped us value engineer what we did and how we did it. All thoughts are given to all existing fallow areas, and areas that would require continual maintenance.
