Midas Construction recently hosted a visit from some very important guests!
18 children from the Town End Nursery in Bodmin made a special visit to the construction site of the new Bodmin Police Station being built by Midas.
The children were escorted by ten parents/helpers and three Midas people and enjoyed their exciting day having a look around the site.
Steve Dustow, Assistant Site Manager, Midas Construction, said:
"We were delighted to host the children's' visit last week and I think they enjoyed themselves having a look around."
Justin Heayn from the Police Force joined in the visit and showed the children his car, including the sirens and a stinger and talked about his role as a Police Officer in Bodmin.
The visit comprised a welcome session, a tour of the police car and a walk around the perimeter of the new office facility being built, before moving onto viewing the new vehicle workshops on site.
The Midas team provided refreshments for the guests at the site office and donated toys and games to the Nursery.
The project involves the construction of a three story Police station for Devon & Cornwall Constabulary, incorporating a number of different departments Traffic, Armed Response Vehicles, Major Crime Investigation Team, Scenes of Crime teams and Collision Investigators, in addition to the patrol and neighbourhood Teams. A single storey Vehicle Maintenance workshop and facility for Dog Handling will also be included.
This is the largest project undertaken by Devon & Cornwall Constabulary (D&CC) for over 20 years.
