Going to the Extreme for Children’s Hospice

Two Midas teams literally went the extra mile when they entered the Children's Hospice South West Dartmoor Corporate Challenge ay Okehampton Training Camp on Saturday 18th July.

Midas Construction is currently finishing the contract to build Little Harbour, the new Children's Hospice at St Austell, Cornwall.

Midas Mauader CubsMidas entered two teams in the event which pitches businesses against businesses in extreme sports and really tough obstacle courses.  The teams comprises ‘the Cubs' in the general Challenge and the ‘Seals' in the ‘Extreme' group. 

Both teams exceeded expectations each winning the award for the fastest mountain bike time and winning a giant cookie while the Seals went all the way and won the overall Extreme competition.

Well done to the Extreme Team, "Midas Marauder Seals" - Andy Dicks, Steve Dustow, Matt Wilkes, Treve Hosken and to "Midas Marauder Cubs" - Sam Lockyer (captain), Dan Walton , Andy Houston, Kevin Bate, Stuart Wilkes.

Thanks also to Tessa Purdy and Vicky Knight for volunteering to marshal on a distinctly wet, windy and cold day on top of Dartmoor
