Midas has recently completed a £2.2m project to extend The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow owned by Rick and Jill Stein.  The four month project to refurbish the restaurant was an eye opener for Rupert Wilson the General Manager of the restaurant, and he felt he learnt a lot.

"I learnt so much about building when the Midas team was on site at the restaurant we thought it only fair we should give Steve and Murdo the opportunity to learn about cooking!"

Steve Hindley, Midas' Chairman and Murdo Mace, Executive Director of Midas Construction will be spending the day at the Padstow Seafood School in Padstow in July to learn some much sought after cooking skills!

Murdo Mace, Executive Director, Midas Construction, said:

"I'm completely useless when it comes to cooking and even got kicked out of my cookery class at Penryn School.  I tried to pass dirty dish water as a soup and filled my Cornish pasty with paper instead of the meat filling!"

Steve isn't a great cook either, but is looking forward to the day:

"I used to cook when I was with the Boy Scouts, but I managed to drop the joint of beef I was cooking into the fire and therefore failed my Cooks badge!  It's very kind of the restaurant to invite us over, and I am sure my wife will look forward to seeing what I can make at the end of it!"

The project involved extending the restaurant to accommodate an extra 30 seats and the kitchen now has a new fish preparation area.  Midas also added new bedrooms, a new entrance and reception area, a lift, feature staircase and a roof terrace which overlooks the harbour.
