Department for Work and Pensions

Project: A 3 year Partnering Agreement to refurbish Job Centres throughout the UK.

Midas has been working with the Department for Work and Pensions since 2001 to deliver its programme of works for Job Centre Plus.

Works on 65 projects worth £35 million have already been successfully completed across a wide geographical area, including Dorset, Cardiff and the Vale, Devon, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, West of England (including Bristol, Bath and North Somerset), Swansea, Gwent and the Eastern Valleys of Wales.

The challenge was refurbishing and fitting out Job Centres while they were occupied, which required extensive co-ordination, planning and phasing.

Works comprise the upgrade of mechanical and electrical installations; new finishes such as ceilings, carpets, glazed and solid partitions, and doors; new furniture, signage and branding; and certain structural works.

The projects have been procured under the PPC 200 Form of Contract and Midas has maintained very good KPIs throughout the projects.
