Early construction consisted of the demolition of an existing Hotel and the re-construction of an existing adjoining garage block. The main Co-op building construction consists of a three storey building consisting of a single store "shop front" area and a "back of house" area containing offices, storage and associated "plant" operations on two floors with the third floor comprising of proposed future flat accommodation. The main structure consists of a Steel frame with both brick/blockwork and cladding infill sections. The roof consists of an insulated cladding sheet make-up to the three storey section of works, and a sedam roof build-up to the lower single storey section of the building. Flooring is made up of both power floated concrete non-slip finish to back of house areas and terrazzo tiles to the main shop front.
The store has a complete mechanical and electrical fit-out together with an in-house Co-op fit out of refrigeration plant and specialist shop front facilities. External works consist of new Car Parking facilities, two new lay-by bays formed off the existing adjacent roads (Bus) + (loading delivery vehicles) and associated landscape works.
The project was completed on time and budget with a 38 week programme duration.
