Midas was recruited by Clifton College, one of the leading independent boarding schools in the South West, to extend and refurbish its school house.
The work involved the demolition of a 1960s extension building, a new build courtyard infill, and the refurbishment of Grade II listed building, to form two boarding houses for 130 “live in” students, House Masters and their families, and a Matron.
Midas carried out the £5 million project in two phases, with students moving from one half of the building into the completed house to enable works to be completed.
The new structure fills the courtyard, and has a glass roof that allows light to filter through the floor levels and two new link blocks, one within a new basement construction.
