The “New World of Entertainment” was a joint venture between Britain’s longest-established gaming operator, the Aspinall Group, and the Australian-based leisure and entertainment giant PBL, controlled by the Packer family.
The three-storey casino, based on Aspers’ “urban casino” concept, included a full range of a live gaming facilities, modern automated gaming equipment, the largest poker room in Wales, bars, restaurants and a ‘mini spa’ area.
The contemporary, stylish casino included two entrances opening onto a circular bar and circular restaurant, incorporating 4m high metal columns within the design. Midas also installed hard stone and contemporary ceramic finishes, as well as veneer panelling.
State-of-the-art security and monitoring measures were incorporated, with M&E making up 50 per cent of the total fit-out value.
